Morning UMW Mission Focus on World Thank Offering

Once a year, during November, the Cedar Cross Morning UMW mission focus is on the World Thank Offering. This Offering is part of the United Methodist Women’s Mission Giving that supports projects working with women, children and youth in the United States and around the world. One of these projects is the Forthspring Inter Community in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Forthspring works with the Catholic and Protestant communities living along the Peace Line in Belfast. It concentrates outreach on the youth and elderly, providing opportunities for reconciliation and fellowship. Throughout the year, Morning UMW members collect coins for the Offering which they place in a special container in their homes. At their meeting, Tuesday, Nov. 8, members received a new container (the blue boxes on the table in the photo) to collect coins for the coming year. Elise Makemson is president of the Morning UMW, which meets the first Tuesday of each month at 9:30am in room 12. All women are welcome!
